China Remote Controlled Pigeons, electronic pigeons

A pigeon with a micro electrode implanted in its head rests in a lab of the Robot Engineering Technology Research Center of east China's Shandong University of Science and Technology in Qingdao, China on Monday, March 12, 2007. Scientists with the research center succeeded in remotely controlling the pigeons' flight by sending signals via computer after they implanted micro electrodes in the pigeons' brains.

Horrific!!!! what a horrible thing, despite of the possible advance and research that might be achieved, this is a terrible way to investigate. Animals feel pain and stress, they can not speak but they suffer agony too. Think twice the next time that you are impressed by the science sophisticated methods, so to say, and remember that behind every single animal we use for food, experimentation, dressing etc there is a suffering organism that is part of our planet and therefore has the right to live free and in a good condition.
