Seriously? Has anyone out there NOT seen Terminator? These ultra realistic robots just keep getting creepier and creepier. Here is the first Geminoid robot that was designed to not look Japanese, the Geminoid DK, which was constructed to look like Associate Professor Henrik Scharfe of Aalborg University in Denmark. Hey if we’re making robot versions of people, how about a Jason Statham look alike?
The Geminoid is going to be used for researching “emotional affordances” in human-robot interaction, the novel notion of “blended presence,” as well as cultural differences (from different continents) in the perception of robots.
